Derik has worked on energy and climate policy for more than 18 years, with an emphasis on greenhouse gas accounting, emissions trading, and carbon offsets. Since 1994, UN negotiators have been meeting annually to agree on a globally coordinated policy response to the threat of climate change. Derik will talk about what to expect from the November Paris Conference – and whether the nations of the world can fulfill their 1992 pledge to “prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.”
