Registration is now open for the 17th annual Salmon Ocean Ecology Meeting to be held March 29-31 2016.

This meeting is typically attended by about 100 researchers studying salmon ocean ecology along the west coast of North America from California to Alaska. The meeting will kick off with a one-day discussion session, focusing on physical and biological ocean conditions observed in 2015, which is particularly relevant to the Blob and El Nino events that have had a coast wide impact on salmon production. Managers and interested researchers from throughout the eastern Pacific are invited to attend to explore linkages with the previous year’s ecosystem state and future recruitment and fisheries production. This is the second year this meeting has been held in Alaska and sponsored by the Alaska Fisheries Science Center
