The 2016 regional conference of the Northwest Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration: Monitoring Ecological Restoration – Measuring Change, Seeing Results will bring together restoration practitioners, researchers and scientists, managers and planners, students and volunteers. Participants with a broad range of interest in the practice and science of ecological restoration will share and discuss their knowledge and experience in workshops, field trips, poster session, symposia, and technical sessions. Keynote and plenary speakers will address the theme of monitoring ecological restoration and other regionally important topics.

The conference will be held April 4-8, 2016, at the Red Lion Inn (Jantzen Beach) in Portland, Oregon.

The conference will address the practice and science of ecological restoration and management in the Cascadia Bioregion and highlight the following thematic topics:

  • Monitoring of Ecological Restoration
  • Restoring Soil Processes, Structure, and Function
  • Aquatic Restoration and Monitoring
  • Monitoring the Northwest Forest Plan
  • Climate Change Implications
  • Monitoring Techniques
  • Ecosystem Services
  • Adaptive Management

We welcome proposals that address our conference theme, though other restoration-centric subjects relevant to the Pacific Northwest Region will also be considered. We encourage submission of proposals that include scientific research, case studies, as well as social, cultural, and economic implications of ecological restoration and management.

The conference will include three days of concurrent sessions, plenary, and workshops. One day of field trips will conclude the conference.
